You Need Your Rest

Every major religion, I’ve heard, includes a day of rest. It promotes healthy living, including a chance to step back and gain perspective on your life. Working every day, and taking what should be leisure time and using it for errands and tasks “to get more done” is counterproductive. We are not machines (and even machines require maintenance!). We need time to relax and restore our balance.physically and mentally.

Taking time out refreshes and renews, and gives more energy and vitality when you return to work. Don’t feel the least bit guilty for giving yourself time to rest. Plan some “down time” every day and every week. Do what you enjoy to restore your energy, whether it’s reading, riding a bike, watching tv or a movie, or just daydreaming. You will be more productive in the long run!
